A Gift of Sound at Eastertide

A Gift of Sound concert is sponsored by The Brown Family, whose love of music has supported performance and the collecting of musical instruments since 1884. The program celebrates the good and cheerful life of Thatcher M. Brown III (1936-2020) and his admiration for the mission and musicianship of The English Concert. Led by internationally renowned opera and concert conductor of distinction, Harry Bicket, Artistic Director of The English Concert since 2006. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2022 Birthday Honours for services to music. Among the finest chamber orchestras in the world, The English Concert connects audiences with the exceptional quality and the zeal of its players. A Gift of Sound is offered at no cost to the public, in order to bring The English Concert to a general audience. Short service of Holy Communion to follow.
